Parents on Duty

Bananas pre-school playgroup benefits from a high level of parental support. We have a duty rota of parents / carers who regularly help with interacting with the children during a session. Duties include preparing the snack, tidying and cleaning up as well as putting away equipment.

This support allows our staff to have more interactive time with the children, developing and observing them during curriculum related activities - encouraging them to learn through play.

We appreciate it if all parents join our duty rota, however, if you are unable to do duties on certain days or can't commit to duty on a regular basis, even just one hour of additional playing / cleaning is very much appreciated when you can help out. If, having committed to a duty day, you are unable to attend, please swap with another parent or ask a grandparent.

Pregnant mothers are exempt from duties for 6 months around the birth of their baby. If you do have a younger child, you are welcome to bring them along - you will be responsible for them at all times.
