Sessions run from 8.45 to 12.35 Monday to Thursday during school term times. We offer a maximum of 4 sessions per week, depending on availability of places. Bananas ELC can accommodate up to 24 children in any one session.
A Typical Session
A typical session includes free play, outdoor play and adventure, group activities & show and tell, snack time, teeth brushing, and story time.
On arrival at 8.45am, you will be buzzed in to the cloakroom, where you can hang up coats and change children into indoor shoes (indoor shoes should have a non-absorbent sole for health & safety reasons). Children are then encouraged to recognise and collect their name tag to take into the playgroup and stick onto the big Bananas showing who is in.
On entering Bananas, parents and carers will be asked to sign your child in and confirm who will be picking them up at the end of the session. At this point we would ask you to place your child’s toys in their drawer for collection at the end of the session, should they have brought any.
At picking up time, you will again be buzzed in to collect your child and sign them out on the register. The arrival and collection of children is supervised by our staff through our secure door system.
We ask you to please arrive promptly both to drop off and collect. We particularly appreciate everyone being present for 8.45am. Please remember to call us before 9.45am if your child is absent.
Dressing for Playgroup
Please bear in mind that clothes may get dirt or paint on them despite our best efforts! Children should be provided with adequate outdoor clothing to participate in outdoor activities. We go outdoors in all weather and require a pair of wellies are left in the cloakroom for wet weather/wet grass. Please also supply your child with dry indoor footwear (e.g. gym shoes with their names written in), which can be kept on their peg in a bag provided by playgroup.
In the summer season please apply suntan lotion before playgroup when necessary, or children to wear long sleeves.
